Cosmopolitan yet casual, Lexington, KY offers a charming blend of big city amenities and small town friendliness. At the heart of Kentucky's Bluegrass Region, Lexington is a great place to live (of course, I live here and I'm probably a bit biased:-).With its low crime rate, strong public school system and moderate cost of living, I routinely get calls from people all over the country looking to retire here over many other vacation type destinations.

Sometimes referred to as a "big small town", Lexington, KY still has a lot of "small town charm" despite ranking as Kentucky's 2nd largest city. Even so, it's nice to know you have easy access to other major metropolitan areas, and Lexington is located within a few hours of several great ones.
 
Located at the intersection of I-75 and I-64, Lexington is a little over an hour away from both Louisville and Cincinnati and about 3 hours from Indianapolis, Knoxville and Nashville.
 
Bluegrass Airport, situated right across from the lovely historic Keeneland race track on Versailles Road (here in Kentucky, we pronounce it "Vur-sales"), offers competitive fares that are frequently lower than rates in Louisville or Cincinnati.
